The global additive majors invented the modern lubricant additive industry and still build excellent chemistry — but their service model is built for global oil-major customers, not for India's blenders. Lubechem matches their technical performance at India's cost, India's speed, and with the independence of a formulator that doesn't sell competing finished oil.
Our parent — Lubechem Consultant — has formulated 500+ finished oils against API, ACEA, JASO and BIS approval rigs since 2010. We engineer our additive packages backward from a passing test result. Global majors design for a worldwide product platform; we design for your specific OEM target and your specific base-oil supply.
Most additive houses ship treat rates with a safety margin to protect their own reputation. We don't need that margin — our consultancy has BIS pass data on our chemistries already. Customers typically run 8–12% lower than spec sheets suggest, which is real money on every drum of finished oil.
Every enquiry routes to a chemist (not a sales person) within 4 business hours. Evaluation samples (1–5 kg, full TDS + COA) couriered within 48 hours of approval. Bulk orders dispatched 5–7 business days from Delhi NCR — substantially faster than the multi-week sample and multi-month bulk lead times typical of imported chemistry.
API SP/SN/CK-4, ACEA A3/B4 + C3 + E9, ILSAC GF-6, JASO MA2/FD, BIS IS 13656, GL-4/GL-5/MT-1, DIN 51517-3 CLP, IMO 2020 cylinder oil — every Lubechem package has been bench-tested against the spec it claims, with the calibration data on file for your audit.
Several of the largest global additive houses are owned by or joint-ventured with oil-major brands, which can introduce commercial agendas you can't always see. Lubechem is privately held, formulation-led, and not selling competing finished oil — so the chemistry we recommend is the chemistry that works for your finished product.
Every package is compounded in our Delhi NCR lab against a published TDS. Every lot is verified on viscosity, TBN, nitrogen, phosphorus, density and flash point before warehouse acceptance. Our COA matches what's in the drum — and we publish lot-level traceability all the way back to the chemistry suppliers (sulfonates, ZDDP precursors, succinimides, OCP).
COA, MSDS/SDS (UN GHS 16-section), Certificate of Origin (DGFT/Chamber), country-specific HS classification, REACH compliance letters for EU, K-REACH support, IEC export code — all prepared in-house, all sent ahead of the container. Active in 20+ export geographies: UAE, KSA, Oman, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand and more.
If your BIS, API or ACEA approval sample comes back marginal, our R&D team analyses the report and recommends a chemistry adjustment — at no charge for first-90-day customers. The same conversation is typically billed as paid consulting time by large global additive houses.
Specific, on-the-record comparison across the metrics that actually matter to a blender's procurement and R&D heads.

India already has a respected community of lubricant additive manufacturers serving the domestic blending industry. We respect every one of them. Here is the honest reading of what each category brings to the table — and where Lubechem fits.
| Type of Indian additive supplier | Typical anchor positioning | Where they typically win | What Lubechem brings on top |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long-established scale player — multi-decade, large MT/year, bulk-liquid + chemicals diversified | Established scale, infrastructure depth, multi-business cross-sell | Production volume, terminal & warehousing capacity, breadth across older product families | Formulation-led — every package engineered backward from 500+ finished-oil R&D records, plus a published eMobility & EV chemistry range |
| Industrial-additive specialist — strong textile, slideway, turbine, quenching, MWF coverage | Deep industrial-additive product matrix, sustainability-led brand | Industrial breadth (slideway, knitting, ashless turbine, quenching, MWF) | Equal industrial breadth plus automotive depth (PCMO, HDDO, ATF/CVT/DCT, marine, locomotive) and tighter Delhi NCR sample-and-bulk lead times |
| Grease, coolant & speciality house — ISO-certified, grease + coolant + dye + polymer focus | Grease (AP / MP / EP), coolant additives, oil dyes, fragrance | Grease and speciality fluid lines, dye and identity chemistry | Match the grease, coolant and dye lines and add a full automotive DI portfolio, EP gear oil packages and 285+ coded products |

The Indian additive industry is bigger than any one supplier — we genuinely respect every established peer and consider the broader community a positive force for India's lubricant export ambition. The categories above are a fair, anonymised reading of how the Indian additive market clusters, and where Lubechem's formulation-led model sits within it.
Most of our enduring customer relationships started with a single 200kg or 1000kg sample order. No long-term contract. No minimum commitment.
